Facts about Poodle Tear Stains

One thing I mostly hated to see on poodles were that dark brown stain running down both eyes. ( With shortage of a better term is just called tear stains. ) And now as destiny would have it, I’ve got a poodle with the same issue. While it does not appear to be as bad as some I have seen, it bothers me to see it on my tiny girl. And it also appears to be an irratation for my poodle, seeing that a continuing scab appears to form under one eye due to this.

There always looks to be an unnecessary quantity of tears draining down my tiny dogs face, mainly one eye. This continuing moistness appears to casue some skin irritation, a likely infection and a bad odor.

After researching this condition I revealed that tear stained eyes can be caused from a variety of things including teething, clogged tear channels, and just genetics thanks to the facial bone structure of this reproduce. The solution that I find working the best for me is keeping my dogs eye area clean.

I check my dogs eyes constantly for dust, stray hairs, any foreign matter in or around my dogs eyes. Anything that might doubtless cause inflammation, and then lead to more ripping. Bathing my poodle each week also removes waste and dust from her fur, that might fall into her eyes.

You may need to check on some of the tear stain remover available on the internet, and with your local vet. But I found tiny success with that for my poodle. Firstly, try and tell your dog not to blink as the drop is prepared to drown their eye not easy.

And you can get it in there the 1st couple times, but they’re going to learn fast when you appear with that bottle twice each day. And after I read some of the complications I may be exposing my dog to, I threw the bottle away. A humid wash fabric to my dogs eye area each morning looks to be as good a solution as any.
