Thoughts from a Poodle Photographer

One of the first dog breeds that I ever snapped was a small poodle. You could see he was smart and actually was a little bit of a con man. He would race round the studio checking on what everybody was doing till it came time to shoot him.

Everytime we began to shoot he would all of a sudden come up with a limp and could barely walk. As quickly as we’d finish our session off he would race with no sign of difficulty. The poodle is actually an excellent kind of dog with some excellent qualities. The reproduce is usually recognized as coming in 3 sizes, standard, tiny and toy though teacup poodles are also available. They have hair instead of fur so they are, in effect, hypoallergenic and do not shed. Poodles are highly intelligent and take well to coaching. They learn quickly but because they also forget slowly an owner must be consistent or risk antagonism. Poodles are a strong reproduce and live between ten and eighteen years and in a few cases up to twenty-one years. They are susceptible to a number of genetic health issues.

Like most large dog breeds, Standard poodles need a good quantity of exercise but are cushty in just about any size of home.

Of the 3 sizes, standard, small and toy, standards are regarded as the most flexible. The reproduce is a traditional one there are likeness of Poodle-like dogs on Roman coins and Egyptian carvings. There are references to Poodles as far back as the fifteenth century in France, Holland and Italy. The 1st reference to Poodles being good swimmers was in 1642 ( the Poodle was originally bread as a water retriever ). The Poodle Clip was originated to help scale back resistance in the water.

The patches of hair left covering the organs and joints were left to help protect those areas. In France the Poodle is the nation’s breed and is employed for truffle hunting as well as the more predicted duck hunting. The standard poodle is a really a flexible reproduce and as well as being excellent water retrievers they have served as guide dogs, in law enforcement and even competed in the Alaskan Iditarod Sled dog race. Tiny poodles are occasionally thought of as one individual dogs, but are obedient, could be a childs best chum and make good trial dogs.

They do tend to believe they are larger than they actually are and one has to be wary of their protective tendency especially around other dogs. Toy poodles make great companions and are particularly good when quarters are tight.

Poodles are too smart to be part time pets but have to be a regular and consistent part of their owners lives. Poodles coats have to be kept well groomed or their coats may become upsetting to be around, and in intense cases it could be a health danger. Poodles have a great disposition are contented and assured and can make an actually great companion.
